Spring's Question: Is Ignite the most collaborative media revolution you can do in 5 minutes

New York  PeterB -would you be able to get 2 or 3 people from your mining of obama's citizen e-spaces to this in new york-rather than a general attempt to get a quorum , could we work back from this sort of idea which we could ask for help on during june 29 - therefore for this cafe I dont want people who are bringing a conflicting ideas

Boston -Tara/marriah/lehka - do you know anyone who might be interested in this sort of thing -would love to see a few cafes hosted on this theme (if it makes sense) so we could pool questions to dhaka on june 29's dialogue day with the world's most experienced microbankers http://yunusforum.net

London- mostofa, laura, peter R - does parallel question make sense to anyone you know

LA Melanie, philippa -ditto

suppose the main bangladesh and other microcredits offered a united design service to eg usa communities in terms of banker as sort of job ebay  -if  we could rehearse in  more detail than below what sort of usa community profiles would come to such a desgin resource, we could ask our bangladesh friends whether they could organise such a joint effort

what are the skills that such a banker would have a register of people able to offer -services in -Who has what skills on call

Nursecare

Childcare

Greencare

Mealcare

Propertycare

...

What do in-network bankers tell us other communities do more of that we don’t yet have a hi-trust flexi-market for

How do people with a job need call in and name a price by urgency of need and time and skill needed

much of the above is segmented when you dig into deeper sub-communities - for example networks of  single parent families in a big city suburb probably have different compendium of exchnage needs than say a small city with a lot of newly out of work people -however the main point is if a confederation of community bankers actually shared their knoweldeg on what jobs a community needs and how to reliably mobilise them (perhaps around a library, 12th grader college or other community centre resource) once we had enough places trying this the econonomy of locla reliable job matching would get greater and greater; I am assuming that implicitly many of the bangladeshi bank branch managers do this sort of thing albeit in their rural village centre - now while that is geographically easier to organsise in a mobile age it should be that hard if we are going to rebulod community to see the bank branch managers as being centre of community ebay job exchanges fitted to rosters of people with proven skills and capacity to serve

it is necessary to start open community surveys somewhere- if you think an organisation is already doing this, introduce us!

why is this different from conventional making of job markets -

-here the banker is helping and the bank is owned by the community

-here the job centre isnt run by out-of community government bureacurats but ideally by members of the community

-here a lot of job descriptions stop being separated of teachers, of librarians, of bankers of, of those who ensure that servoice job conracts are honored ...

-here we may start to see that where a strong community of place or of demographic exists this sort of bank quickly gets better and better and starts creating replications other communities can use; and equally where it doesnt that is a place or demographic who most need extra social impact support before anything is going to develop for and with them

-somehow if we could get a cluster of these concept community banks up and running ot would probably then be easy to design a white book facebook (social network tool) which each community used for banker as job ebay

does anyone see how to start improving this or am I talking to myself.

story of http://collaborationcafe.net

Planting Seeds of Community Collaboration

7 years and about 200 cafes ago we began as a loose collaboration city network interested in the following things:

  • how do we host 1 hour meetings where people meet hoping that some of them will continue after the meeting in teams that social action some doable and communally worthwhile goal
  • as we hosted more and more cafes, we tried to keep a joing log of what are the commonalities- which themes do result in social action teams? how do we share collaboration permission or replication franchises across cities or other communities that cafe people see themselves as members of?
  •  then in parallel we started doing surveys of who were the most trusted collaboration entrepreneurs anywhere on the planet, and many of us were surprised that we had been completely ignorant of the number 1 worldwide network already doing sustainable community building - microcredit - so we tried to start cross-fertilising on june 29 we have an opportunity to explore 33 years of knowhow with originators of microcredit -amongst other achivements they have sustained about 125 million jobs among the world pooreswt women and communities where no jobs previously existed - right now we need to know how these experiences translate to nations and places where job-developing banks have ceased to exist - this will be one of our subdialogues on june 29

at the same time there are other subdialogues one example - as parents and people, we have always been interested in hosting collaboration cafes in schools particularly before adolescence - why should kids discuss future work and personal banking before they need to take on all the risks of doing it on their own- is there no microentrepreneur faculty/curriculum within all the teachers that usa employs to develop the bridghe between childish freedom and adolescent community responsibility? what are the main ages in life where mentors in the community could guide you to the next choices you will need to make before you blindly find you have to make a choice without any prep

INVITATIONS example: dear chris

innovating collaboration (attached) is a new genre whose world publishing centre is dhaka and other future capitalism spaces where microeconomists network sustainability investment funding microcredit's and social business networking's other entrepreneurial system round from wall street and swiss banks- its chief editorial board is selected by people like nobel laureate Muhammad Yunus

partly to celebrate dr yunus 69th birthday, collaboration networks are organising a youth and sustainability investment networking day around muhammad yunus on june 29 http://yunusforum.net/ - it has 2 urgent positive multiplier themes

- his lifelong one of end poverty amongst world's poorest by helping them job create and community sustain

- prevent poverty from crashing through the usa as fast as disappearing banks and global accounting's off balance sheet shredding of community and whole truth

is there anyone from ted or its innovation subnetworks on these agendas that would want to join us http://yunusforum.net/ - friends have been working on this strategy with muhammad yunus since he won the nobel prize as he has always openly advised we were heading for a crisis of crashing exponentials in which undergraduates across usa would be absolutely critical - the class of 09/10 can save yes we can if obama's team continue to be trapped in wall street politics- so as well as the day's dialogue field inspections are possible to any of the good news stories http://yunus10000.com/ like Grameen installs more solar than the whole of the USA http://www.gshakti.org/ or mobile banking will reduce transaction costs of safe banking by 10 fold http://bankabillion.org/

In new york, dc and boston I can introduce you to some of our undergraduate ringleaders who know how microcredit can community bank anywhere should you or colleague wish to make such collaboration innovation connections

cheers chris macrae 301 881 1655 www.youtube.com/microeconomist

oh yes this also goes directly into our schools just before teens which you know from my nomination of sunita gandhi is another way to ensure we don't drown in top-down- my grandad was mentored one barrister to another by Mahatama Gandhi on how to use teenage girl power to overthrow english empire

http://erworld.tv/ 33 years of The Economist journalism club surveying what entrepreneurial revolution is not

Collaboration Cafe aims to be the simplest meeting format through which youth and citizens can achieve the sorts of social action goals that Bill Clinton talks about and the entrepreneurial revolutions for human sustainability that networks around Muhammad Yunus have been replicating for 31 years.

At  CC we refer to the original meaning of entrepreneur – innovating purposeful breakthroughs that multiply the productive lifetimes and satisfy vital needs of all who are communally involved in sustaining better futures over time. When spreadsheets began to rule the world of management in the 1980s, entrepreneurial truth got increasingly polluted. Today, we urgently need the Dr Yunus fieldbook of Future Capitalism if we are to compound a globalisation that integrates localities equitably around 7 billion brilliant productive jobs and prevent ever greater crashes that can only sustain meaningful jobs and healthy lives for less than 10% of the worldwide population.

fc33.jpg

The format of CC is inspired by the first and third parts of Open Space Technology but not the 2nd 3 day meeting format

1 Extraordinary Invitation so people who come are the right people

2 CC uses typically a one hour format and about 12 people max not a 3 day format and potentially hundreds of thousands of people

3 The success of CC (like OS) is judged by what social or innovation action networking is sustained after the meeting and the degree of entrepreneurial system transformation benefiting humanity that win-win-wins over time

Collaboration Cafes have been hosted on all continents.   This citizen power phenomenon began in London early in the new millennium. Cities that have achieved particularly human consequences with CC are: London Dhaka Paris New York . We welcome citizen hosts everywhere and wish to openly share all the action learnings and contexts that make open collaboration energising.

Ideally, the one hour of CC involves being guided through practical demonstrations of how to do something much better for humanity than conventional wisdom says is all that is possible.  Originally CC invited worldwide inventors who were passing through a city to come and share their practice with local would-be alumni.
Whilst occasional cafes still do that as in the New York CC shown with Muhammad Yunus, we have found that people committed to entrepreneurially action learn can achieve this as long as  the cafe’s guide has been truly trained by the originator.

An alternative use of CC is to debate a good news message that is being shared across cities by a worldwide champion of how to celebrate humanity –typically this may ask that participants decide whether to commit to a social action teamworking initiative over the coming year. We are currently researching what 25 news stories youth can most productively debate through 2009, and aim to distribute 10000 copies of a dvd with the active support of DR Yunus and other leaders of Capitalism’s Future linked around win-win-wins of social businesses and community building social actions.

Yes We Can Inauguration Week 2- Startling News on Job Creation in Africa

dear peter

collaboration jamii bora - the microcredit that turns thieves into youth entrepreneurs and prostitutes into thriving healthy businesswomen; who builds 2000 subsubprime houses and makes them the core of economic regeneration; who uses mobiles to do all the minutiae of bank deposit accounting making banks 10 times cheaper and safer than ever seen before -come edit another 999 social businesses the world needs to share good news with

Collaboration UNITUS

why not hit reply all and add in ed bland's email whom you met at that fantastic JP Morgan meet that Sam Daley-Harris organised

reasoning unitus is one of the great heroes of trojan horsing mfi to become microcredit again- its one of jamii bora's supporters (indeed I am unclear if JB would have survived kenya's 2008 riots without Unitus and wholeplanetfoundation in the background)- by such collaboration threads does micro yes we can survive -in Kenya and anywhere outreaching to Obama and micro's sustainability economics

though its 9 minute wanders, Bloomberg's interviewer of Ed does ask 2 exciting questions http://cts.vresp.com/c/?Unitus/0929622059/8cbaa5ef7a/7cb63b60a8/N=tvtoday&clipSRC=http%3A%2F%2Fvideo-static.clipsyndicate.com%2Fcs-video%2Fvol2%2F2009%2F1%2F29%2F58%2F351%2Fd48699d2-5cd3-4b72-9cd2-eef8e29000d3.flv

peter - there seemed to be a lot at the 2 day mfi conference where it would be interesting to have your scorecards on who's helping and who's ruining the bangladesh model of banking for the poorest and its opportunity to spread yes we can good cheer now

we need to ask ed if he has time to join the June Grameen dialogue around youth's yes we can networkers with dr yunus in dhaka (I wonder if we can get one of sam's 93 congressmen too - or is a mirpur slum not yet on America's leadership for youth quest)

from 1988 forecast of economics crisis 2008:

"Some will say [I have] been too optimistic. That is what a 65-year-old like me finds it natural to be. When I joined The Economist in 1949 it seemed unlikely that the world would last long. But here we stand, 40 memory-sodden years on, and what have we done?

What we have done - largely because the poorest two-thirds of people are living much longer - is approximately to octuple real gross world product. During the brief civilian working lives of us returning soldiers from the second world war, we have added seven times as much to the world's producing power as was added during all the previous millennia of homo sapien's existence. That may help to explain why some of us sound and write rather tired. cf milken & yunus & rose
